Why It Matters

Xiaomi’s next top phone is now officially coming to India, but nobody outside the company knows the date or the price. Indian buyers should wait for Xiaomi India to share both before booking or paying any advance. Do not trust a seller who says the Pro Max will arrive in India, or who says it will not, until Xiaomi says so itself. Avoid paying extra for imported phones, because warranty and service can be harder to get. Check news from Xiaomi India and the global launch this month.

On 2 November 2026, Xiaomi’s official X account posted an image of the Xiaomi 18 Pro series with the line “See you this November,” according to Beebom. That points to a global launch this month.

The India confirmation came earlier

On 9 October 2026, at the India Mobile Congress in New Delhi, Xiaomi said the 18 Pro is coming to India. That makes the Xiaomi 18 Pro India launch official. Xiaomi gave no date and no price, though. The phones first appeared in China in September.

What the phone offers

Gautam Batra, an associate director at Xiaomi India, said the 18 Pro runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor. He also highlighted its “distinctive back display,” a small secondary screen on the rear.

Beebom lists three cameras on the China model: a 200MP main sensor, a 200MP telephoto and a 50MP ultrawide. The China version has a 7,000mAh battery. The Indian version may differ, since Xiaomi has not shared India specifications.

The Pro Max question

Only the 18 Pro was named for India. Beebom says it has no information on the 18 Pro Max for the Indian market. The same outlet reports that the Pro Max uses the faster Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 and a larger 8,500mAh battery, and that Xiaomi’s 2 November post covers both phones for the global launch.

Some reports claim Xiaomi has dropped the Pro Max from its India plans. We could not open those reports, so we cannot confirm them, and nothing we read from Xiaomi says so.

How it compares with rivals

Qualcomm says the iQOO 16 and the Motorola Signature 27 use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, which it calls its “most powerful mobile platform.” The 18 Pro uses the standard Gen 6 chip. Qualcomm says that chip is built the same way and brings many of the same features to more phones, so the real-world gap may be small. Qualcomm published no benchmark scores, and we could not confirm India prices for any of the three phones.

Our analysis

  • Confirmed: Xiaomi says the 18 Pro is coming to India, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6.
  • Not confirmed: The India launch date, India price, India specifications, and whether the Pro Max will be sold in India.
  • Watch next: The global launch this month, and whether Xiaomi India announces a date or mentions the Pro Max.

The Pro Max is absent from the India announcement but present in the global teaser. That gap is not proof it has been dropped. If you want the Pro Max, wait for the global event before paying extra for an import.
