Why It Matters

Oura Ring 5 brings advanced sleep tracking and health insights to Indian consumers through a slim titanium smart ring. Its India pre-order pricing and monthly membership make affordability and long-term value important considerations for potential buyers.

Most fitness gadgets want your attention during the day. The Oura Ring 5 does most of its work at night, while you sleep.

Oura opened pre-orders for the ring in India on 22 October 2026. You can order it on Amazon India and Croma. It went on pre-order worldwide in May. No Indian delivery date has been shared yet, so you cannot buy it and use it this week.

What the ring does

The Ring 5 is a thin titanium band. It is about 6 millimetres wide and a little over 2 millimetres thick. It weighs from 2 grams, as per the published specifications.

On the inside of the ring, small lights shine into your finger. Sensors then check how blood flows under your skin. The app uses this to estimate your heart rate, your breathing, your temperature trends and your sleep. Oura says the finger gives steadier readings than the wrist. That is why it made a ring and not a watch.

Oura says the battery lasts six to nine days, depending on your ring size and how you use it. This is the company’s own number. It has not been tested by anyone else. The ring is rated IP68 and can handle water up to 100 metres. It comes in sizes 6 to 13, so measure your finger properly before you order.

The health features

The biggest new feature is called Health Radar. One part of it, Blood Pressure Signals, looks at 30 days of your night-time data. It tries to find patterns that could mean extra strain on your heart and blood vessels.

Oura says these are wellness features. They do not give you a blood pressure number in mmHg, and they cannot diagnose any illness. You can still enter readings from a normal blood pressure cuff in the app, so you will still need the cuff.

People who already own an Oura ring get something new too. GLP-1 Insights lets you note down your GLP-1 medicine doses, side effects and weight changes next to your sleep data. It works with the Oura Ring Gen3 or newer, and only in English.

What it costs in India

The Silver and Black rings cost Rs 39,900. The Gold, Deep Rose, Stealth and Brushed Silver rings cost Rs 50,900.

There is also a monthly fee. Oura Membership costs Rs 599 a month, taxes included. Reports say you need it to get the full app. I could not confirm what the app shows without it.

This is a lot of money for a health gadget in India, and the monthly fee makes it more. So the ring suits people who will check their sleep and health data every day. Over two years, a Silver ring plus the membership comes to about Rs 54,300. That is my own calculation, and it assumes you pay every month with no discounts.

What still needs testing

Many buyers already wear a smartwatch, so that is the ring’s main rival. Is a ring’s night-time reading more reliable than a good watch? Only independent tests can answer that. The same goes for Blood Pressure Signals. Oura says it is for spotting trends, not for measuring blood pressure.

The ring is easy to understand. The real question is whether the data from your sleeping finger is useful enough to keep paying the monthly fee.
